Fundraising Events 2023/2024

In our 60th year it was wonderful to celebrate this milestone with adopters of our dogs, members, friends and dog lovers. Thank so much to everyone who attended. We loved seeing you all and catching up, we especially enjoyed having some extra cuddles with dogs we had not seen for a while. The weather was kind and a lot of money was raised which went directly towards helping the dogs being cared for at the Rescue Centre.

Open Days – 29th & 30th June

A huge thank you to everyone that helped to make our Open Days such a success. Many, many of our supporters and a lot of our former residents came back to see us and enjoy an afternoon out. Sincere thanks go to the incredible Ukulele band who performed for everyone during the afternoon, our hard-working catering team and everyone who turned out to lend a hand.

They were truly afternoons to reflect how far we have come and how many dogs have benefited from our support.

The Red Lion, Chenies - Dog Social - Saturday 16th March

Calling all dog enthusiasts!
The Red Lion, Chenies hosted a dog social on the 16th March from 11am and were their chosen charity!
Thank you to everyone for their support !

Beechwood Artists

A big thank you to Beechwood Artists who chose to donate 10% of sales at their art exhibitions in May and October.

They also have a collecting tin and to date have raised £245.00.

Chiltern View Bingo

The local Bingo Group at Chiltern View Academy, Chesham chose CDRS as their charity for two months and raised a magnificent £210 to support the dogs.

They say, "We hope this small gesture will help you continue the great work that you do”

Chiltern Voice Radio

CDRS were thrilled to be chosen as the radio’s charity of the month in August! This culminated with a live outside broadcast from the Rescue Centre with "Bilsby's Brunch" and then followed by "Bob & Pete" - with lots of interviews about the work that we do. It was great fun!

Cooper’s Markets

We continue to be supported by Rob Sneddon, founder of Cooper’s Markets and receive a donation from each stallholder pitch at the monthly artisan market in Old Amersham. A huge thank you to Rob for his continued support.

Liam Jones

Liam took on an Ultra Triathlon for CDRS in June. This involved a full distance Triathlon which consisted of a 2.4mile (3.8km) swim, 112mile (180km) bike ride and to top that off, a full marathon which is 26 miles (42km).

Liam said before the event ’I’ve never done a triathlon of any distance before and wanted to give one a go before I try and raise money for charity. But everyone said I may never want to do one after this, so here we are!’

Liam completed the challenge in 13 hours, 45 mins (and a puncture!) and raised an amazing total of £732.00. We’re in awe of this achievement!
